Adrian Flynn (TREC Ireland Chairperson), pictured here presenting the Welsh Irish Friendship Shield to Colette Gavin, one of our very own Leinster TREC volunteers. This shield was presented to TREC Ireland by some of our Welsh TREC friends in 2010 to be awarded annually to someone who has made "an outstanding contribution to TREC". Colette and Brendan Gavin were deemed worthy winners for 2014. Hi Treccies,
Come and join us on Sunday 30th November for our Leinster TREC AGM and Treasure Hunt (on-foot)! We are planning a really fun day which is open to everyone, so bring along spouses/partners, kids, grannies, friends, dogs, etc! Our day will start at 11a.m. with the AGM taking place in Dowling's Pub (beside traffic lights in Prosperous, Co Kildare). We are hoping the current committee will all stay on but we are always looking for new members! Being on the Leinster TREC Committee is a great way to get involved in TREC, whether you are a rider or not! Organising events is a brilliant way to learn about the sport, get involved, have a hobby and of course, give back to the sport. Where would we be without our volunteers! So please, do let us know if you are interested in signing up for this active and social group. Immediately after the AGM, we will have a presentation of prizes and rosettes for the Leinster TREC POR League 2014 which finished up at Loughway Stud on Sunday 2nd. Maybe you are among the winners??!! Annual Awards will also be presented to some of our excellent volunteers and riders! Following on from the presentations, our annual FUN Treasure Hunt will take place in the nearby Ballinafagh Lake (Catherine Bartley organised a brilliant one last year) and then we will return to Dowling's for a hearty lunch of soup and sambos, only €5 per head. We would LOVE to see you there! This is our main social event of the year. We would especially love to see some of our new TREC friends on the day, so do come along. There will be plenty of time for chat and getting to know one another on the day. See you there! Check out our new community page on Facebook!
